I am a Colorado native raised in a small town, Red Feather Lakes. This idyllic region has deeply influenced my artistic vision, and I have spent a lot of time studying native plants and animals, fostering a deep-rooted appreciation for the beauty of nature that surrounds us. From the vibrant colors of wildflowers to the intricate patterns of leaves, nature continually inspires my designs and artwork.
Creativity has always been a part of my life, but it took a poignant moment to crystallize my path. After my dad passed away, his words echoed in my heart and guided me toward establishing Buzzing Bird Studios. He always told me, “Don’t complicate things, just make something and sell it!” His wisdom serves as a beacon in my artistic endeavors, prompting me to follow my passion without fear or hesitation. Growing up, I admired him as a self-employed successful chainsaw artist, watching him create beauty from raw materials and realizing his dreams each day with unfaltering enthusiasm.
After his passing, I began to have vivid dreams of him appearing as a Rufus hummingbird. In those dreams, we would wander the woods together, talking about life, my aspirations, and the art that flows from my heart. This enchanting vision inspired the hummingbird in my logo—it symbolizes his spirit guiding me through this creative journey, encouraging me to embrace my passion and share it with the world.
Over the years, as I honed my craft and expanded my skill set in jewelry making, I discovered a deep-seated love and passion for capturing memories for people through custom heirloom jewelry. This unique pursuit allows me to create pieces that serve as heartfelt tributes, embodying the essence of cherished moments and emotional connections. Each design is not merely a product; it becomes a significant artifact, infused with stories and memories that resonate on a personal level.
